Year 2: during the 2nd year, students develop a greater theoretical understanding and analytical approach to their studio practice, through comprehensive industry-led briefs including: brand development; market and consumer research; trend forecasting. Year 3: on successful completion of the 2nd year, students are given the option to work for a year in industry on a full-time placement in 1 or more fashion-related companies; this gives students a valuable insight into the realities of such a fast-paced industry, which in turn informs and refines their studio practice; students also have the opportunity to further broaden their student experience and participate in the international student exchange program during this year. Final year: the final year encourages students to work in a self-directed manner throughout a series of highly individual projects, both for inclusion in their portfolio as well as for national and international competitions; the final major project asks students to design and create a promotional campaign of their choice, with an in-depth creative fashion marketing report to support their project.
