University of East Anglia (UEA), BSc (Hons), Business Management

Year 1

Because it’s important to understand the individual contributions that different areas of a business make to an organisation’s overall strength, all first year students at the Norwich Business School study core modules that provide a grounding in the key principles and theories related to management practice, including accounting, finance and business.  Anyone who has been inspired by a particular subject studied in the first year may consider switching to a degree in another area within Norwich Business School at the start of the second year.

Year 2

You will develop your understanding of management through three compulsory modules.  In addition, you may also select modules which best reflect your particular interests, including Financial Accounting, Business and Company Law, and Business Ethics. You may also opt to take a module from another school within the university, including an introductory module to a language (Mandarin, Japanese, French, Spanish and German).

Year 3

  • During your final year you will study ‘Strategic Management’.  This advanced module examines how corporate and business strategies are developed and executed in different organisations, and you will consider the challenges of implementing and managing these strategies.  Your choice of remaining options should be based on those modules that best reflect your career goals and the interests you have developed over the course of your studies.  For example, you may choose to study Consumer Behaviour, Financial Modelling, and Managing Innovation and Creativity.
  • Your third year will be spent overseas at one of our partner universities and although you will need to pass your year abroad, it won’t count towards your final degree classification.

Year 4

During your final year you will study ‘Strategic Management’.  This advanced module examines how corporate and business strategies are developed and executed in different organisations, and you will consider the challenges of implementing and managing these strategies.
