Year 3: Independent digital art practice; dissertation; essay and vocational; professional practice; exhibition C. Fine art digital Level 1: This level typically includes: training and acquisition of knowledge of industry standard hardware and software for the development of image manipulation practices together with a broad overview of art concepts and contexts; projects to a set brief simulating a professional outcome for either print or electronic image which utilises and demonstrates the range of understanding of the art and design principles and technical concerns of the software package and electronic images being used; set exercises to become familiar with the operation of the software applications and tools. Level 2: Instruction in the appropriate use of professional digital animation software packages and the use of appropriate hardware; the introduction of video and sound as components of art practice; deployment of an enlarged critical and technical vocabulary. Level 3: Working individually students must research and develop a distinctive concept that challenges and extends their knowledge of the potential for digital art; students research professional practice to inform the development of their own projects; students are supported through individual tutorials and group discussion critiques; students present a body of work, which demonstrates their ability to resolve ideas, concepts and proposals, through independent and/or collaborative work.
