The programme is part of the UCLan's School of Language, Literature and International Studies.
The aim of the International Foundation Programme at UCLan is for all students to improve their English and get to IELTS 6.0-6.5 by the end of the course. Students are required to take up to 21 hours of class per week. The programme consists of six modules, four based on academic English, one on cultural training and one optional choice depending on interest. The student can take modules which will help in the undergraduate course they wish to pursue after the foundation programme.
Current module options include: Computing, Art/Fashion & Design, Science & Engineering, Business, Research Modules, Law, IELTS Training, Current Affairs.
Preston is the cultural capital of Lancashire, and has easy commuting access to the rest of the UK by road, rail and air.
The university is a ten minute walk away from the main train station. By train, Preston is 45 minutes away from Manchester, 2hrs 15 minutes from London and 1 hour from Liverpool. Manchester, Liverpool and Blackpool airports are easily accessible.
