This course is primarily concerned with the practical communication of visual ideas through original image making; the emphasis of the course is on practice; this encompasses a huge variety of working methods: traditional drawing and painting; mixed media; print; digital; photographic work; the course aims to help students create an innovative and highly individual portfolio of work and to stimulate and challenge their ability to communicate with a variety of set and self-initiated projects; external projects from practising illustrators and competition briefs also form a significant part of the learning experience; application deadline: March 2010.
