The course provides an opportunity to build on the training provided by postgraduate Diploma courses; it is intended for students seeking to make psychotherapeutic work their primary activity; clinical ability is enhanced through a deepening and critical understanding of methods and models of counselling and psychotherapy, and through a critical understanding of counselling and psychotherapy research; applied psychotherapeutic counselling is taught weekly throughout the 1st semester; methods and models of research in psychotherapeutic counselling (dissertation) is taught fortnightly basis across 2 semesters (2 seminar groups).
