This course examines the theory and practice of game play as well as user interface design, computer animation and graphics programming; it emphasises the development of theoretical as well as highly practical skills; students study the history of games, strategy and artificial intelligence, from traditional games such as chess through to the most sophisticated multimedia games; students also learn how to design and develop complex interactive multimedia software; in the final year of the course they put these skills into practice, working individually and collaboratively on production projects that involve the development of game levels and prototypes.
