The use of computer generated images (CGI) in video and film work is now so commonplace that hardly any production passes through the post-production phase without being manipulated in some way in a computer; it is a growing area of the television and film industry and there is an increasing demand for people with the necessary specialist skills; this course mixes theoretical, creative and technical skills; after broad-based core modules in the 1st year, students progress to specialist work in computer animation in which they study advanced techniques and their application with a variety of industry standard software packages; in the 3rd year students put their skills to work, collaboratively and individually, on animation-based projects.
