This course is designed for individuals who are working, or wish to work in a laboratory; it is particularly useful for individuals working or who wish to work in pathology; the programme starts with basic science units and develops into units covering the pathology specialisms involved in hospital laboratories; the course involves acquiring background knowledge to enhance understanding of the practical skills required in laboratory work; practical techniques are taught and students develop a wide range of academic skills including report writing, independent research, presentation and time management.
