Course aims: to develop an awareness and appreciation of the cultural importance of art and artefact; to encourage students to critically evaluate a variety of media and artistic production from an academic and applied perspective; to enable students to critically engage with their own practice; to provide students with opportunity to generate, develop, articulate and execute ideas in an efficient and professional manner; to develop the transferable technical, analytical and critical skills of students appropriate to professional application; to develop students’ critical awareness of the new communications technologies and their impact on traditional media.
