The course is designed to develop an understanding of land-based industries and in particular the place that the livestock and the poultry sectors have in the rural economy; it considers the global poultry production industry and the latest in production techniques and technologies as well as the relevant scientific principles; poultry breeding, welfare, and hygiene and essentials of feeding are all key components; the course also aims to develop the learning, communication, numeracy and team workings skills so valued by employers.
