Applicants are normally required to have at least a second class Honours degree or equivalent, those with non-standard qualifications, for example mature students with industrial experience and students from overseas, are also encouraged to apply; applicants are invited to attend for interview wherever possible, if unable to attend for interview, overseas applicants are normally required to take the Graduate Record Examinations (GRE) General test of the Educational Testing Service; candidates whose first language is not English are normally required to provide proof of proficiency in the English Language: a British Council IELTS average score of 6.5 (minimum 7 in written English), or TOEFL test score of at least 570 (230 in the computer-based test).
