Course develops the knowledge, techniques and reasoning skills necessary for practice and is delivered through a combination of academic study and practice placements; subjects including occupational therapy theory, psychology, mental health, sociology, anatomy and other academic components are taught within the University, while visits into the local community and extended visits to a variety of health agencies allow students to develop a wider appreciation of occupation, health and well-being; the 6 practice placements that are integrated throughout the course offer students the opportunity to put theory and skills into practice; these placements are in diverse practice settings throughout Scotland and are designed to prepare students for working within a variety of services.

Location

Robert Gordon University is located in the historic city of Aberdeen, on Scotland's north-east coast. Aberdeen is Scotland’s third largest city, with a multicultural population of 225,000, including 25,000 students. It is known as 'the oil capital of Europe', and as such has a thriving economy, and is rich in culture and things to do.


The City is just over two hours from Edinburgh and Glasgow by rail and just over an hour by air from Amsterdam, London and Paris.
