Students must complete 9 taught doctoral modules (270 D points) and a research dissertation (270 D points); the taught modules will be presented in intensive blocks amounting to 30 hours contact time; all candidates must take the module ‘Educational Research: An Overview’ and 3 other research modules from the available programme: Evaluative research; experimental and survey methods in educational research; quantitative research: Methods, data and theory; the professional as researcher; philosophical and ethical issues in educational research; research and the Policy Process.
