Entry requirements

A four year Bachelor's Degree is required, but welcome applications from Bologna Bachelor's Degree Recipients. GPA 3.0 or equivalent is required. GRE Test OR GMAT Test. GRE minimum requirements: Combined (new) verbal and quantitative score of 290 or higher (each: minimum of 145) or combined (previous) verbal and quantitative score of 1000 or higher (each minimum of 500). GMAT minimum requirements: A total score of 550 (verbal and quantitative sections). The Graduate School accepts valid TOEFL scores earned through the paper-based test and Internet-based test. The minimum paper-based test score required for admission is 550. The minimum Internet-based test scores required for admission are the following: Writing 18 Speaking 18 Listening 14 Reading 19 Total 77. The Graduate School also accepts valid* International English Language Testing System (IELTS) scores. An overall band score of 6.5 is required for admission. All graduate students are recommended to have completed coursework in the areas listed below, although it is recognized that individual plans of study developed in conjunction with a student's research interests may not require all areas listed below. If a student does not have adequate background for their area of study, they may be asked to take a prerequisite course(s) as a condition of their acceptance into the program. Location

Purdue's campus is situated in the small city of West Lafayette, near the western bank of the Wabash River, across which sits the larger city of Lafayette. Academic buildings are mostly concentrated on the eastern and southern parts of campus, with residence halls and intramural fields to the west, and athletic facilities to the north. The Greater Lafayette Public Transportation Corporation (CityBus) operates eight campus loop bus routes on which students, faculty, and staff can ride free of charge with Purdue Identification.


The main campus in West Lafayette offers more than 200 majors for undergraduates, over 70 master’s and doctoral programs, and professional degrees in pharmacy and veterinary medicine. In addition, Purdue has 18 intercollegiate sports teams and more than 900 student organizations.
