Entry requirements
Prior Degree
Applicants must have a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university. International students must have completed the equivalent of a four-year American baccalaureate degree.
Grade Point Average (GPA)
School of Civil and Construction Engineering requires a minimum undergraduate grade point average (GPA) of 3.00 (on a 4-point scale). The GPA is based on the last 90 graded quarter (60 semester) credit hours of the first baccalaureate degree plus all work completed thereafter. For international students, the GPA is based on the last 2 years of undergraduate courses.
GRE
The School requires only the General GRE test; GRE subject tests are not required. The general GRE is required for all graduate applicants (including OSU graduates applying for the MEng program starting Fall 2012). GRE scores cannot be more than five (5) years old at the time of application. The requirement is a minimum of 146 on the Verbal section, and a combined score of 300 on the Verbal and Quantitative sections (1100 using the GRE scoring scale prior to August 2011). A minimum score of 3.0 on the writing section is desirable. This minimum applies to all programs in CCE. English Language Requirements
• TOEFL iBT 80 (PBT 550) (minimum 18 subscores) or
• IELTS 6.5
• Subscores under 18 will be conditionally admitted
into the Transitional Admission Program
• Certain programs have higher minimum requirements.
