The course comprises a 100-credit taught component and an 80-credit consultancy project; compulsory modules (70 credits) typically include: The environment business; research methods; aqueous geochemistry; introduction to microbiology, microbial physiology and biogeochemistry; sources and fate of pollutants; analytical geochemistry 1 and 2; 3 optional technical modules (10 credits each) taken from a list which may include: groundwater assessment; microbial transformations of organic pollutants; biogeochemistry of pollution control; contaminated land.
