Entry requirements

Candidates need to have responsibility for advising and supporting classroom teachers; have responsibility for screening and assessing learners showing signs of SpLD; need to organise the diagnostic assessment of a learner and write the report as a case study to demonstrate their ability to carry out diagnostic assessments; candidates who have not completed the Level 5 Certificate need to carry out 2 teaching case studies; candidates with the OCR 307 certificate will only have to complete 1 additional case study; candidates will be expected to have a high level of skill and be working at or above the equivalent of level 3 in the following key skill areas, literacy, numeracy, information communication technology, working with others, improving own learning and problem solving.
