Module 1: English Skills for Business (5 hours)

This course aims to give you valuable skills to understand and communicate in an English-speaking business environment.
A huge amount of international business is conducted in English and having better English skills will help you to:

  • Increase your business and make more money!
  • Find a better job!

You will learn about business, e.g. organisation structures, business models and markets. And business skills, e.g. negotiation, selling, leadership and management, etc.

  Module 2 : IELTS (5 hours)

During each week, you will study and practise techniques and strategies for all parts of the IELTS exam, such as:
Reading
  • How to manage your time
  • Techniques and strategies to answer the different types of questions
  • Practise to increase your speed and accuracy

Listening

  • What to do while listening to maximise your time
  • How to answer the different questions
  • Practise to increase your accuracy and confidence

Speaking

  • What kind of topics and questions to expect
  • How to answer unexpected questions
  • Practise to build your confidence and fluency

Writing

  • How to understand the different types of task and questions
  • How to plan your answer
  • Practise to familiarise you with the tasks and time frames.

 Module 3: English for Academic Purposes (EAP) (5 hours)

The English for Academic Purposes course aims to improve the English skills you need to succeed in an English-speaking university:
  • Understanding lectures, seminars and tutorials
  • Producing essay and theses
  • Coping with examinations

You will learn vocabulary and grammar which are specifically required to achieve this. So you will be able to express your ideas successfully in an academic way!

 Module 4: Speaking and Listening (5 hours)

Improve your conversational English by practising speaking, listening, pronunciation and vocabulary. You will practise your pronunciation to speak more clearly and be easily understood. It will also help your listening and make you a more effective and confident communicator.

You will learn the individual sounds of English and the other features of pronunciation, such as intonation and sentence stress. This module will help you to become more fluent and confident when speaking English.

 Module 5: Reading and Writing (5 hours)
Improve your reading and writing for daily life and also for study. Learn the spelling forms in English and understand how to write formal and informal texts, stories and poems etc.

The course will provide you with a model text and give you practice in the writing process and the type of language used in different situations. You will also explore many forms of reading material such as newspapers, magazines, academic reports and develop your language skills in understanding them at the same time. You will learn commonly used language and practise it in a writing context such as writing a blog.
