Speaking
- Increasing fluency by practicing speaking with your classmates.
- Increasing accuracy by studying vocabulary and grammar and through correction of your errors.
- Building your confidence by encouraging you to express your opinions in a friendly, sympathetic environment.
- Maximising your communication success by improving your pronunciation.
Listening
- Studying techniques to help you get the most from listening to a range of English-speaking voices in a broad range of contexts.
- Practising in class and individually to build your confidence.
Reading
- Studying reading skills with both authentic texts and texts adapted to your level.
- Practising reading in different ways and for different reasons!
Writing
- Writing a variety of informal, formal, long and short texts.
- Using writing to improve your language skills.
- Studying ways to communicate better through writing.
Grammar
- Studying grammar structures by looking at examples from authentic English.
- Practising using grammar structures to improve your communication skills.
Comprehension
- Learning ways to help yourself understand natural (British) English as well as English for International Communication.
- Practising through a range of activities, tasks and games.
Use of English
- Studying how English is used by native speakers as well as internationally.
- Bringing together all the skills to help you express yourself better and better in English.
You will have plenty of opportunities to study and practise all these with your classmates, as well as opportunities for self-study at home or in our Learning Resource Centre. We use a wide range or methodologies, technologies, materials (including authentic materials) and resources to provide the most appropriate lessons possible for you and your classmates.
