This practice-based course provides the range of skills, knowledge and confidence to undertake the design of interior spaces and their contents, both moveable and fixed; it is centred on developing a personal process that enables students to identify, develop and express creative concepts for a range of situations including interior space, furniture, lighting and a variety of domestic ware, as well as more personal, concept-based propositions; work is across ideas, materials and techniques, examining real situations and the needs that arise; encouragment is given to generate, develop and communicate proposals for imaginative design solutions; teamworking approach helps students prepare for careers in a sector where breadth, flexibility and interpersonal and collaborative skills are valued as highly as creativity.
