The course is centred around history of modern European philosophy from late 18th century to present day; focuses on the continental tradition (Kant and Hegel) as well as contemporary European philosophy (Heidegger, Merleau-Ponty, Benjamin, Derrida and Irigaray); there are 3 distinct perspectives: method of philosophical enquiry; aesthetics from Kant to Benjamin; value of the tradition in philosophical thinking.
