Good Honours degree or equivalent in maritime, engineering, science, business or management related study; a Class 1 Master Mariner or Chief Engineer certificate of competence; an unclassified degree but with significant maritime industrial experience may also be considered; non-UK applicants must have demonstrated competence in English language equivalent to IELTS 6.0 within the previous 24 months and must attend the additional English classes provided by the University at the start of the course; applicants who have studied and successfully achieved a UK degree within the previous 24 months are exempt from this requirement
