Liverpool Hope University, BA (Hons), Creative and Performing Arts
Level 1: Students will follow two modules: process, possibility and purpose – practical and theoretical issues in performance, concentrating on recent practitioners; the arts in practice and in context – practical experience in areas of your choice such as dance, musical skills, instrumental/vocal study, technical theatre, writing and drawing; students will also investigate the local arts scene, including frequent attendance at performances and exhibitions of all kinds. Level 2: The multi-disciplinary structure of year 1 gives way to an interdisciplinary approach (a process which extends into year 3); students will also focus upon their chosen specialist art forms, selecting around half of the course from options available. Level 3: Students will have the opportunity to study and develop their work more independently; core modules include an independent project – creating and implementing a programme of study to consolidate and extend skills in the context of a self-motivated project, with a showcase opportunity.
