This is a interdisciplinary degree programme taught by experts in the field of urbanism drawn from sociology, criminology, geography and politics at Keele University; the programme is taught over 4 3-day teaching blocks spread across the academic year and includes the submission of a 15,000-18,000 word dissertation; these 4 blocks teach students core materials in the field of urban studies and are organised to provide students with detailed insights in theories of urban space and urban development, enable them to understand the important methodological approaches to research the city, think about the relationship between the city, community, and culture, and work through issues of sustainability, design, and governance.
