The course will suit students who have a strong and well developed interest in fine art based activity; after a short introductory period and an introduction to various workshop and media processes, students will be encouraged to develop their own fine art practice; this practice may be of an interdisciplinary nature where work is possible across photography, film, video, installation, and electronic imaging or in the more traditional areas of painting, sculpture, printmaking and drawing; students are expected to develop a strong understanding of the critical debate surrounding contemporary art practice, philosophy and contexts; critical evaluation and reflective skills will be encouraged, and knowledge will be developed through theoretical and contextual study modules.
