Year 1: Contains material common to all physics courses to preserve the ability to transfer to other courses; the necessary grounding in chemistry is also provided. Year 2: Physics course content is augmented by biology. Year 2: Primarily physics content, supplemented by the chemistry of materials. Year 4: Covers the principles of effects and behaviour on the nanoscale. Year 5: Half of the taught material is directed at nanoscale topics in physics, chemistry and photonics.
