Entry requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics or a study programme from another higher education institution with similar content. The examination board decides whether the content corresponds or not. In cases of doubt, admission to the Master’s programme will depend on an entry examination that students have to pass.
Proof of English language skills by certificates or another equivalent form of proof recognised by the examination office.
Proof may be:
1) a university entrance qualification (e.g. A-levels), or
2) secondary school records with the grade no worse than ”sufficient (4.0)” or 5 points, or
3) certificates of successfully completed language courses at German or foreign universities, whereby at least 120 hours of language instruction need to be proven, or
4) official reports or examinations of language skills that have been acquired during study periods abroad, in university language courses or in private studies, or
5) certificates that are recognised as equivalent proof by the examination board.
Applicants who do not have a German university entrance qualification, nor do they have a degree from a German higher education institution, are obliged to submit proof of adequate German language skills. In order to submit an application for Master’s programmes with German as language of instruction, you have to present German language certificates proving at least completed level C1.
