Practice placements for therapy students mainly take place in the Beatson Oncology Centre; for part of practice placement, students spend time in the radiotherapy centre of Ninewells Hospital, Dundee; it is useful for students to experience the contrast between a larger radiotherapy department and a smaller centre; whilst on practice placement all students are expected to work from 9am until 5pm and 100% attendance is compulsory; during the 3rd year, students have a 4-week elective placement where they can choose to work in different radiotherapy and diagnostic centres e.g. London, Manchester, Newcastle, Australia, New Zealand and Malta.
