This course focuses on the creation of leisurewear, beachwear, streetwear and clothes that reflect a modern, relaxed lifestyle; from drawing and fabric technology to computer graphics, the course also merges design disciplines; the course allows participants to develop the technical and creative edge that enables them to design original collections as well as identify and influence fashion; the student also puts these skills into practice on live projects and undertakes work placements with recognised regional, national or international brands to gain a thorough insight into the fashion industry; through regular contact with international industry professionals together with interaction with students from other design disciplines, and self-funded study trips abroad, the student develops a thorough understanding of the social and historical context of fashion and how that relates to, and fuels the originality of, their designs.

Falmouth Campus is a ten-minute walk from Falmouth Town station, five minutes by train from Penryn and 20 minutes by train from Truro (every half hour Monday - Friday.) There are eight buses an hour to Penryn at peak times. Buses depart regularly from Falmouth town centre, the train takes five minutes from Falmouth and it’s 15 minutes by train from Truro to Penryn station, which is a 20-minute walk from the campus.
