Edinburgh College of Art, BA (Hons), Sculpture
Year 1: General course intended to be one of breadth of study; includes core drawing studies; printmaking; painting; sculpture; tapestry; humanities; 3 design subjects may be selected including 1 arts specialist subject and 1 from graphic design, illustration, film/television, photography, animation. Year 2: Sculpture (including technical methods); drawing (including figure and other sources); humanities; subsidiary subject (optional). The emphasis at second year is on individual development through making sculpture which reflects the individual's interests and ideas. Students are encouraged to work in a wide range of materials and approaches. Years 3 and 4: After second year it is expected that students will be more able to select or initiate study subjects and methods of making drawing and sculpture of a more personal interest. The direction followed in fourth year is based on ideas formed in third year.
