A range of topics in palliative care are studied; students will be asked to identify their own learning aims and to demonstrate their progress in achieving them, based on recommended reading and consideration of the subject materials; there is a compulsory 2 day residential study period, involving active participation in communication skills scenarios, which need to be completed to a satisfactory level; also includes multiple-entry reflective diary, an audit of an aspect of palliative care, a critique of out-of-hours care, 2 case reflections.
