A relevant 1st degree in the health and social sciences; or a professional registration to practise in health and/or social care or equivalent (2 years post qualified); practitioners should normally be working in a field of practice where the study of palliative care is relevant or have sufficient access to such practice to support their studies; consideration is given to other, non-professionally registered specialists who can demonstrate the relevance of the award to their professional and career development; a prerequisite for all applicants is that they have not had a recent, significant, personal bereavement prior to commencing the programme; should a student suffer a significant bereavement after commencing the programme they would be advised to interrupt and review in 1 year.
