Cambridge School of Visual and Performing Arts, BA (Hons), Fashion
Year 1: Students learn essential skills and developing their background knowledge through research; they also gain live work experience in industry; fashion clothing research; craft skills: pattern cutting, stitch, use of professional machines, drawing skills, decorative stitch; information technology skills; design process; historical/contemporary practice; live jobs and work experience. Year 2: Expanded design and technical mix: integration of business, professional and production knowledge and skills; live projects; developing external links with industry; study based on real-world partnerships of design, retail and manufacture. Year 3: In the final semester students determine the emphasis of their portfolio, selecting from design and related activities to produce work directly related to their future career.
