The course is based on practical workshops and supported by industry guest speakers; in the television production area, students learn portable single camera craft skills and in post production, non-linear editing on industry standard AVID suites; students also work in studio production programming in an industry based television studio; a strong emphasis is placed on the key skills of producer/director and the editorial understanding of the structure of programme making; ideas generation and seeing them through to a television format is also an integral part of the course; television content is also seen in the wider context in response to the emergence of new content provider platforms; interactivity, website content and other content streaming; students get the opportunity to understand and develop good media practices of ethics, media law and copyright; this is a very hands on course with workshops and practical assignments.
