The KU Academic Accelerator Program is an intensive first-year experience program for international students combining English language instruction with KU core courses while providing co-curricular, extra-curricular, and acculturation support.

Designed specifically for international students, the Academic Accelerator Program (AAP) makes transition to college and life in the U.S. a rewarding and successful experience. The AAP can help improve English language skills, help students understand how to use American academic tools, provide tutoring, and other career and academic support.

AAP classes involve students in the greater community, empower students to become an active and responsible learner in the classroom and nurture creativity. The AAP program has been carefully tailored to apply across cultures. By providing access to extra hours of academic support from professors and extensive student-support services, the program fosters academic excellence while expanding social and cultural horizons to prepare for life after graduation.

You can join the KU AAP in August, January or May. It is a year-long program (three semesters) and on successful completion you will progress onto year two of one of KU’s 200+ Undergraduate Degrees.

Choose from three subject specific tracks, depending on your choice of major:

  • Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) track
  • Business and Finance track
  • General Studies
