You’ve probably known for a long time that you’re absolutely mesmerized by technology. You are passionate about robotics, alternative energy, space exploration, the internet of things, music, and/or computers and electronics. You’re interested in what makes things work, and you want a career that ensures you will be able to make a positive impact on society. You’re sounding a lot like an electrical engineer.
If you major in electrical engineering (EE), you can expect to line up a rewarding job well before you step off the graduation stage. EE is the backbone discipline of today’s technological explosion, from the development of microelectronics and robotics, to the embedded computer systems found in household appliances, automobiles, as well as spacecraft and satellite equipment. Increasingly, it is also the source for innovative solutions to challenges in energy and healthcare.
