The course offers the opportunity to undertake creative practice in 1 of a number of fine and applied arts disciplines: painting, printmaking, lens-based and time-based media, sculpture, ceramics, silversmithing and jewellery, and textile art; although students are based in a specific practice area they can also initiate programmes of work which involve study in more than 1 discipline, often leading to outcomes which are interdisciplinary in character; innovative, independent thinking is a primary concern and is looked for in the interview portfolio; professional practice is an integral part of the course; there is an optional placement between years 2 ans 3.
