The aims of this programme include developing the student’s ability to be able to provide knowledge, understanding and critical appreciation of children in a school context and understand and promoting the development, needs and experience of children without prejudice or discrimination; alongside the student’s professional knowledge and development, aspects that are more personal are incorporated into the aims of the programme, including: the student’s ability to use ideas and information in context; developing the ability to plan and manage the student’s own learning; abilities to criticise ideas and evidence.
