Public concern about processes which affect the environment continue to influence almost all industrial operations; waste disposal, energy production and the minimisation of pollution are the key problems that must be addressed for the sustainable cities of the future; this course is to gives students a clear and fundamental knowledge of the environmental issues from a technological and engineering point of view; the practical engineering issues surrounding environmental impact and the, often neglected, underlying factors governing energy conservation are outlined throughout the course.
