MA International Relations is delivered by the Graduate Institute of Politics and International Studies (GIPIS), which brings together expertise from across a number of Departments at the University of Reading.
Reading's MA programmes produce some of the country's best students. A recent graduate of the MA in Strategic Studies won the Trench Gascoigne Essay Prize for 2010, the Royal United Services Institute's annual competition awarded for original writing on contemporary issues of national and international defence and security issues.
MA International Relations aims to acquaint students with the current debates in the field and their relationship to contemporary problems of world politics. It also aims to strengthen their ability for critical analysis of International Relations. It offers the opportunity for specialisation in various aspects of international politics, strategic studies, international political economy, international law, international organisations, and area studies.
The University of Reading is located in the South-East of England and has excellent transport links. Reading's railway station is within only 25 minutes from London Paddington by high speed train, as well provides regular services to and from other cities around the UK. There are direct services to and from both London Heathrow and London Gatwick Airports.
