This course is for NHS empoyees; the course equips students to meet the threshold standards for practice in anaesthetics, surgery and recovery care; approved by the College of Operating Department Practitioners (CODP) and the Health Professions Council (HPC), this course enables students to become eligible to apply for registration with HPC as an Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) on successful completion and award of Dip HE ODP; approximately 2/3 of the time is spent in supervised practice/hands-on care with a dedicated mentor in hospitals across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight; the partnership between the course team and clinical placements is very strong and with regular contact and monitoring of the process throughout.
