This course covers criminal law and procedure and the traditional theoretical concerns of criminology, and examines the criminal justice system from a range of other perspectives, including the management of organisations, the psychological and sociological causes of criminal behaviour and social and economic perspectives; there is also a module on research methods, focusing on the specific requirements of criminal justie; the LLM in criminal justice is designed for people who already work, or intend to work, within the criminal justice system, whether for the police, probation service, prison service or other organisations, or those with an interest in such matters.

Location

The University of Kent has three campuses in the UK, situated in Canterbury, Medway, and Tonbridge. It also has sites in Europe, at Paris, Brussels and Athens.

The main campus- Canterbury campus is built on 300 acres of parkland and is less than 25 minutes’ walk from the historic cathedral city of Canterbury. Canterbury is a vibrant city with a warm and friendly atmosphere, within easy reach of London, France and Belgium. There is a free coach service between Medway and Canterbury campuses.
