The programme aims to provide professionals in education and training with a critical understanding of the core issues involved in the design, development and implementation of e-learning, with specific focus and emphasis placed on students’ professional working context; it is aimed at professionals in a range of education and training roles working in various educational sectors across the world, including further and higher education, the school sector, corporate sector, the voluntary sector and the health care area; students study key theoretical and practical issues involved in learning, teaching and assessment online; policies and aspects of e-learning in relation to wider organisational, national and global contexts; issues in the effective implementation of new and emerging technologies; and the theory and practice of educational research within the context of e-learning; the course deepens students’ understanding and skills in relation to e-learning within the professional working context, including the design, production and management of resources for e-learning and the development and delivery of online learning courses.
