Students on this course can learn the essential technical and organisational skills required to work in the industry; they have the chance to work in a wide range of radio genres, live and pre-recorded, with activities taking place in the studio and on location; students also develop their critical and analytical abilities, something all potential employers are looking for, during theory modules where they learn to read radio texts and understand radio in its wider social context; the compulsory work placement at level 3 gives students the opportunity to gain genuine experience of working in the industry and of making contacts which help them in building their future career.
