The course enables students to choose from 2 pathways: 1st: taught modules are taken to the value of 120 credits and the dissertation represents 60 credits; suitable for students who don’t have a 1st degree in archaeology but wish to engage in research in the subject; or for more specific subject teaching; 2nd: dissertation accounts for 90 credits (1/2 the total): for students who have a degree in archaeology and want to devote more time to research; both pathways are intended to serve as research training to suit the requirements of the AHRC’s postgraduate grants competition.
