This course is designed for applicants intending to take up careers as professional translators working in a broad range of fields such as business, commerce, publishing, journalism and other areas of the media, science and technology, or who aim to work as freelance translators; it is also aimed at practicing translators who would like to update their knowledge and skills or wish to gain access to teaching and lecturing; the Master's provides a solid base for those wishing to pursue further postgraduate research in Translation Studies; the course contains a large practical component and takes a comparative, cross-cultural approach; students submit their own translations for discussion and are encouraged to become involved in the editing of Norwich Papers, an in-house collection of students' work; all students work with English and 1 or more other language(s); this course consists of 6 modules of study; students must also complete a research dissertation.

Location
