In the 1st year students study the core subjects that underpin sport and exercise: exercise physiology; anatomy; biomechanics; psychology; motor control and learning; the sport environment; and sports management; in the 2nd year, students can follow a study route either sport and exercise science (SES) or sport and exercise studies (Sp. Studies); students also have the opportunity to take specialist pathways in strength and conditioning, sports psychology, sports coaching, sports therapy, exercise and health and sports management in the 2nd and 3rd years; the zoology course concentrates studies in the field of animal biology from unicellular to most complex multi-cellular animals; it includes areas such as wildlife conservation, ecology, animal behaviour, molecular biology, genetics and physiology.
