On this course students can work across a full range of fine art practices, from painting, sculpture, mixed and multimedia, to photography, video, sound and installation; students choose the media in which they work and develop their ideas through group critiques, seminars and individual tutorials, at each stage of this course; as students work through their course, they are encouraged to start dictating their own direction in their work; in the final year students present a proposal of work, which they develop in their independent study, and display in their final degree exhibition; students also have the chance to go on a visit to a cultural centre in Europe or the United States of America in each year of the course; they also visit the Derbyshire Peak District and galleries and museums nationally; application deadline: March 2010.
