This a joint Honours course which allows the student to study 2 subjects in equal proportions; media production is designed to develop students' production skills in media writing and video production in the context of a conventional industry model; students consider real world issues such as audience needs and effective team working whilst engaging on production activity that emulates professional practices; this may include working with performing arts students, setting up focus groups or pitching project ideas to a panel of tutors and professional film-makers; students on the music technology course have the opportunity to acquire a range of skills in: studio production; electro-acoustic techniques; games software; music recording work; students undertake a rich variety of modules in studio-based composition, alongside their study of recording and sound engineering techniques.
